JENNINGS RANDOLPH AWARD WINNERS. Last Friday, Notre Dame High School was presented the prestigious Jennings Randolph Award by Mac Warner, WV Secretary of State. The Award is presented to high schools who register 100% of their eligible students to vote and is named for Harrison County native and late United States Senator Jennings Randolph. Senator Randolph was the author and sponsor of the 26th Amendment that lowered the national voting age to 18 years old. Harrison County Clerk Susan Thomas and Delegate Ben Queen were on hand for the presentation. So far, Notre Dame and South Harrison High Schools are the only Harrison County schools to earn the Award for the 2018-18 school year. The 26th Amendment was ratified in 1971. Photo by Ian Macara.
