By Local News | January 10, 2017
One King Sports (a local 501c3 non-profit Christian sports ministry) is launching a capital campaign for a bew multi-use sports facility. This facility will be built in southern Harrison County on land donated to the ministry by Horizons Church.

This Multi-Use Sports Facility will be used as a home base for all of the One King Sports ministry activities. One King Sports currently has a thriving basketball league (300 kids) and a popular and growing flag football and cheerleading program (100 kids).  The ministry will be adding a One King Soccer Skills Clinic and One King Volleyball League later in 2017.

This facility will allow One King Sports the opportunity to expand the ministry into other sports as well as expand into older age divisions. It will also give the operation more opportunities to spread the word of the gospel and teachings of Jesus Christ.

One King Sports will be launching monthly blogs via its website and social media outlets where individuals can donate to the building fund. They will also be scheduling sit down presentations with local businesses/individuals/organizations in hopes to secure financial donations.

This multi-use sports facility is being designed by MSES consultants. The facility will have two regulation size basketball courts that can be converted for use in volleyball, indoor soccer and various other sports.

The facility will include bleacher seating, a concession area, player meeting rooms, coach’s meeting/training conference room and much more. The total cost of this facility will be approximately $2 million dollars.

One King Sports’ mission is to instill biblical values, leadership skills and teamwork principles that impact participants throughout their lives. Coaches actively pray with players and have scripture discussions during practices. At half time of all One King Sports games, a Christ filled message is shared with players and spectators.

Galatians 6: 8-9 “Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up".
