DYNASTY! RCB Flying Eagles Win 6th Straight Class AA State Cheerleading Championship

The Robert C. Byrd High School Flying Eagles cheerleading team has just won their 6th straight Class AA State Cheerleading Championship establishing themselves as the most prolific cheerleading program in the last four decades anywhere in West Virginia.
 
The Flying Eagles competed on Saturday morning against seven other Class AA high school cheerleading teams. The 2017-18 state high school cheerleading championships were hosted at the Charleston Civic Center.  The top eight Class AA regional winners began their competition at 10 a.m. 
 
RCB finished first in the Class AA Region II cheerleading competition in November.
 
Taryn Bailey is the only senior on the RCB squad. Other members include Sophie Banko, Eryka Clevenger, Alianna Shuttleworth, Kalie Henderson, Gia Morrone, Agelina Cruz America, Courtney Beeson, Kaleigha Hollins, Azaria Michael, Belle Bennett, Aiyana Bellamy and Aanaejha Jordan.
 
Jennifer Scott Banko is the head cheerleading coach.  She has coached the squad in all six of its state championships.
