UPDATE: According to businessinsider.com, the Bon-Ton Stores is preparing to wind down its business after two liquidation firms — Great American Group and Tiger Capital Group — won a bankruptcy auction Tuesday.

In a bankruptcy filing on Wednesday, the company detailed the addresses of the stores that would be closing. A total of 212 stores across the company's brands are included on the list.

ORIGINAL: According to this report from CNBC.com, the end of Bon-Ton and stores under its banner - including Elder-Beerman - is at hand. Elder-Beerman has a location at the Meadowbrook Mall as well as the Elder-Beerman Home Store.

Here is the start of CNBC's report:

As Bon-Ton heads to liquidation, the shuttering of more than 200 regional department stores jeopardizes U.S. mall owners already struggling to fill empty stores.

The winning bidder for the retailer's assets — a unit of bondholders, Great American Group and Tiger Capital Group — is scheduled to be approved on Wednesday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware, court documents show. The outcome will likely be a complete shutdown of Bon-Ton's business, including its other banners Carson's, Younkers and Elder-Beerman.
