Developers to Offer 40 Secure Apartments for Seniors in the Former Palace Building

The historic property in downtown Clarksburg that formerly house The Palace Furniture Company is seeing new life.
Now called "The Palace on Main", the building is located at 168 West Main Street in Clarksburg.  According to the city administration, the building is being refurbished into affordable housing with an emphasis on persons 55 or older.
The interior will consist of 27 one-bedroom units, 7 two-bedroom units and 6 three-bedroom units according to Developer Steve Sadd of Sadd Brothers LLC.
Amenities include a secured environment with Access Controlled Entry, ample parking, community room, elevator, air conditioned, energy star rated appliances, washer and dryer, dishwasher and cable hook-up.
Being centrally located, the Palace on Main will allow residents access to all downtown amenities as well as public transportation.
City Manager Martin Howe stated, “The Palace on Main will have an immediate impact to the Central Business District as well as restoring a historical building and providing a rebirth of a great notable structure.”
