MVB Banks Donates $75,000 for Renovations to Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center

Leaders from MVB Bank, Inc. and the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center gathered at the theater’s construction site this afternoon to recognize and accept a major contribution to the performing arts center’s capital campaign.

MVB Bank has donated $75,000 to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. This significant contribution will help to complete the renovation/construction efforts and provide operational funding for the theater when its doors open in late summer of this year.

“This is not MVB’s first pledge of support toward the Robinson Grand. They have been a long-term partner through helping the City of Clarksburg secure New Market and Historic Tax Credits that helped to reduce the overall construction costs. These crucial credits provided a net gain of $6,550,607 for the project. MVB also assisted with Bond Anticipation Notes (BANS), as well as provided a one-day loan of $10 million, which initiated the credits to make this project a reality,” said Ryan Tolley, Executive Director of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center.

“At MVB Bank, we believe there is a renaissance happening in Clarksburg, and we’re excited to be located here in the middle of such positive and important change. The renovation of the historic Robinson Grand will strengthen our community and enhance our quality of life through the arts and the economic impact it will spark. This is the type of project that shows Clarksburg is thinking bigger! From the beginning, we knew we wanted to be involved and were happy to work with City Manager Martin Howe and Assistant City Manager Anthony Bellotte, as well as Mayor Cathy Goings, to assist with securing financing for the project. It has been a thrill to watch the work progressing as we drive by the building each day. As part of MVB’s ongoing commitment to invest in our communities, we are very glad to make a $75,000 donation toward the restoration of this majestic community landmark. MVB also recently launched our new Community Development Corporation (CDC) that we hope will create even more opportunity in our communities for projects like this one,” said Larry F. Mazza, CEO and President, MVB Bank, Inc.

Located in Clarksburg’s Central Business District, the center is undergoing a $15 million renovation and restoration.
