By Local News | December 06, 2016
Former Harrison County Magistrate Jim Terango will become the Chief Deputy for the Tax Division under the administration of Harrison County Sheriff-Elect Robert Matheny.

Current Lt. Scott Lattea will serve the new Sheriff as the Interim Chief Deputy.  Lattea is a 13-year veteran of the Sheriff's Department.

Matheny made the announcements in a letter to the Harrison County Commission.  The Commission will meet and discuss the appointments at their meeting on Thursday.

In addition to Terango and Lattea, Matheny is asking the Commission to approve Rick Barnhart as the Chief of Security for the Courthouse.  The Chief of Security will be a newly created position. Barnhart is the current Chief of Police for the Town of Monongah.

The new position will not require additional funding.  According to Matheny, the new position can be funded from within the current budget for the Sheriff's Department.
