STOP THE RUMORS! Governor Justice Notifies the Press that He Does NOT have Cancer

By Connect Clarksburg Staff | January 28, 2018
The Justice administration responded to Capitol rumors about the governor’s health by distributing a news release saying he is fine.

The statement was headlined “Gov. Justice: Please stop the rumors.”

“I’ve had no recent doctors’ appointments but the last time I did they told me I’m in wonderful health, except for being a little chunky, and that I have incredible stamina,” Gov. Jim Justice stated in the release.

“I pray every day for my health, the health of my family and the health of all West Virginians. I encourage everyone else to do the same.”

The rumor going around the Capitol — which is a full-time gossip mill — was that the governor had received a cancer diagnosis.

By 6:39 p.m. Thursday, the rumors had apparently become so pervasive that the Governor’s Office decided to address the topic head-on.

“Could the false rumors please stop,” Justice stated. “Instead of celebrating and concentrating on the wonderful achievements that have been taking place in our great state, some people are questioning my health. In no way, shape, form or fashion are these rumors true.
