With Even Chain Stores Closing, Does Harrison County Have Too Many Restaurants?

By Connect Clarksburg Staff | March 03, 2019
Tim Horton's Cafe & Bake Shop in the BFS service center at Charles Pointe is the latest Harrison County dining option to close for business.

Last week, Hermosilla's Deli at White Oaks announced that they had closed permanently.  And there is talk of more to come.

The closure of both locally-owned and national chain restaurants begs the question, "Does Harrison County have too many restaurants?"

Further, is the risk for local entrepreneurs interested in the food and dining business too high for banks to consider for financing?  Is the risk too great for a local entreprenuer to invest his or her own money in the proposition of another eating establishment?

But we understand that more restaurants are coming - Eastpointe, Charles Pointe and White Oaks are all possible locations for more eateries.
