Betty Crowley to be Recognized as a "Woman of Distinction" by the PWA of Clarksburg

In observance of National Italian Heritage Month for October, the Progressive Women's Association will honor ten women of Italian heritage during a noon luncheon on Friday, October 27. The event will take place at Uptown Event Center and will feature bank financier Marie Prezioso as keynote speaker.
Connect Clarksburg is pleased to present this introduction of one of this year's honorees.
Rosalyn Queen Alonso, PWA President, noted that the Women of Distinction Program recognizes Harrison County women who have made a difference in their communities. She described this highly-successful program as an expression of gratitude for their commitment and continued support to the Clarksburg community and Harrison County.
This program is a continuation of our mission - “A movement providing opportunities to empower women in their personal advancement that will enable them to impact their community,”  Mrs. Alonso said.
This event is sponsored through the generous support of Davis Funeral Home.

The individial woman recognized this year in the Religion category is Betty Crowley.
Betty's mother was born in Italy. Her grandfather came to the United States first then her mother came when she was 8 years old with an older brother and sister. Betty is also a graduate of a local business college. Betty has been an Eucharistic minister, coordinator of bereavement, and chairperson of Parish activities.
She has been a secretary at All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport for 18 years. She's taught Religious Education for over 25 years, and Vacation Bible School for many years. She is married to Richard B. Crowley, Jr.  They have two children and four granddaughters.
