Organ Recital: Dr. Kipp Cortez

Join First United Methodist Church in Clarksburg in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the installation of their 3,799 pipe Casavant pipe organ with a recital by Dr. Kipp Cortez. Cortez is the Joseph F. Marsh Endowed Assistant Professor of organ and carillon at Concord University in Athens, WV. He will be performing works by J.S. Bach, Marcel Dupre, Dan Locklair, and others. The recital is taking place Sunday, June 4 at 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (corner of 2nd and Pike Streets) in downtown Clarksburg. Admission is free and a reception will follow. Dr. Cortez has already made a major name for himself in the organ world, having been named to the Diapason magazine's inaugural class of "20 under 30" leaders in the organ world. He is a graduate of Valparaiso University and the University of Michigan.
